"We are going to go to Bethpage and kick their @#^&ing @#%." - Remember this one? Bummer. Though can't blame the Kaptain for the bulletin board material as I usually say something similar before any buddies golf trip.

Look who we have here??

 EVERYONE'S FAVORITE CADDY IS BACK
This story is a real Russian nesting doll of Breakfast Balls content.

Doll #1:
The headline is that America's favorite caddy, Geno Bonnalie is officially back on Tour. After parting ways with Joel Dahmen and rocketing into fame due to he and Joel starring in Full Swing on Netflix, it was unclear if or when we'd see Geno again.

We got our answer this week as he's been spotted at the Tour stop in Mississippi at the Sanderson Farms Championship. "There's a stop in Mississippi?" Yes. "Oh, wait is it that one with the rooster trophy?" Yep.

Doll #2:
Doll #3:
Guess whose bag it was that Geno joined?

Bad Birdie's own Isaiah Salinda! Could we see a Full Swing appearance in his future?? We can only hope.

GOLF.com did a quick profile on Salinda paired with the Geno announcement and the quotes are pure gold.

Doll #4:
“Are you recording this or anything?” - Salinda
“We don’t have to be.” - Reporter
“No, no, no — you can. F–k it,” - Salinda

"Too many guys out here are just kind of cookie-cutter, vanilla shortbread cookies, you know what I mean?" - Salinda.

(Yep, we do. Enter Bad Birdie...)

I am so pumped for this weekend and hope this is just the beginning of Isaiah getting to the next level. He was in the hunt on quite a few occasions this past season. Our dude is POISED.

A craic-n' good time

BILL MURRAY IS COMING BACK TO TV
News broke this week in "the trades" (sorry... a little entertainment biz lingo snuck back in there from my days in TV) that Bill Murray has signed on to a new golf series coming to Paramount+ and BBC.

The series is tentatively called Off Course and it will be a six episode docu-series where him and golf writer/personal favorite Tom Coyne play courses across Ireland.

The Deadline article kept the rest of the details quite sparse but we got a little tease about the hook of the show from a Murray quote;

"They’ve got this wonderful word there (in Ireland), ‘craic,’ which means fun, but it means a lot of other things. A lot of good things. And this show will be about us finding it.”

Some additional Googling and this craic thing seems like an ideal turn of phrase.

"Craic" (pronounced "crack") is an Irish term referring to fun, entertainment, enjoyment, and lively conversation or gossip. It encompasses a good time, enjoyable experiences, and the overall spirit of friendly social interaction, particularly within Irish culture. Common phrases include "What's the craic?" (meaning "What's up?" or "What's happening?") and "The craic was mighty" (meaning "We had a great time").

"The craic was mighty" is absolutely incredible. I know there is zero chance I could pull off trying to add this to my vocabulary but wow what a word.

Quirky course alert!

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE—BUT MAKE IT GOLF
During my scrolls this week I came across an announcement for a new golf course coming to Cornwall, NY just 50 miles outside NYC called Storm King Golf Club.

Storm King claims to be "Golf Reimagined" and after watching some videos and reading up, it actually might be.

Per its site—it boasts five distinct nine-hole routings, 225,000 square feet of greens (including one quad green, two triple, three double, and four single greens), and over 30 multi-directional tee locations. Storm King is more than a course—it’s a configurable golf experience with over 50 unique golf holes. Overlayed on top of it all is a 19-hole par-3 layout for shorter, sharper play or a fun challenge with friends.

My mind broke trying to figure out how this is even possible.

The idea though is that since it sits on such a small parcel of land, their business model will rely on full course rent-outs for corporate and charity style events where people can play it every which way over the span of a day.

They're finishing work on it as we speak and are slated to open in 2026.

And perhaps the coolest part of the club is that Storm King has designed the entire thing with accessibility in mind as well. Partnering with adaptive golf organizations to host clinics, exhibitions, and tournaments for wounded veterans and people with special needs.

I got a sneak peek and the "crib" is looking niiiice

 SAN DIEGO—WE'RE OPEN!
As many of you read this week's issue, the doors to our newest retail location in beautiful, always sunny, constantly in the 70s, greatest city in the country... San Diego... are now open!

Fresh off a couple rounds of Xiao Long Bao at the Din Tai Fung a few doors down, I cruised by the store this week to check it out and it's definitely a vibe.

A little Golden Tee in the corner, TV to catch that week's tournament action, and the San Diego exclusive merch is a must-grab.

So whether you live in the area or are cruising through on a golf trip to Torrey, Ram's Hill or the other world-class courses in the area... stock up, swing by, and don't forget to tell 'em Bad Birdie Scott sent ya.
